Davao City: The Police Regional Office (PRO) 11 in the Davao Region has successfully seized PHP3.8 million worth of illegal drugs and apprehended 76 individuals in a series of anti-drug operations conducted from November 11 to 17. In an official statement, PRO-11 chief Brig. Gen. Leon Victor Rosete Maranan disclosed that among those arrested, eight were identified as high-value individuals. According to Philippines News Agency, the operation led to the confiscation of substances suspected to be shabu and marijuana leaves, carrying an estimated street value of PHP3.8 million and PHP18,919, respectively. The apprehension included notable high-value targets such as Davao Region's No. 7 HVI, alias 'Nanay', who was arrested in Muslim Village, Barangay Ilang, Davao City on November 15. Another significant arrest was of the No. 9 target, alias 'Gemar', in Barangay Buhangin, Davao City on November 13, and alias 'Chief', the No. 8 target, in Barangay Catalunan Pequeño, Davao City on November 11. Brig. Gen. Maranan a ttributed the success of the weeklong operations to the Philippine National Police's recalibrated strategy under the directives of PNP Chief Rommel Francisco Marbil, aimed at eradicating illegal drugs and ensuring a secure community. He also reported that since November 1, the PRO-11 had arrested a total of 200 wanted individuals, highlighting the intensified efforts against criminal activities. The operations are seen as a result of the collaborative efforts and commitment of the police force, community members, and other stakeholders in maintaining safety and security in the region. Brig. Gen. Maranan emphasized the ongoing commitment to enhance patrol operations, police visibility, and law enforcement activities.
