DavNor Governor Edwin Jubahib Appointed New RDC-11 Chair

Manila: The Davao del Norte provincial government expressed pride as its governor was appointed the new Regional Development Council (RDC) 11 (Davao Region) head. Jubilation followed President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s appointment of Governor Edwin Jubahib as chairperson of the RDC-11 for the 2025-2028 term on Oct. 24.

According to Philippines News Agency, the RDC-11 congratulated Jubahib on its official Facebook page and welcomed his appointment. The Council stated, “Your leadership marks a new chapter in advancing inclusive and sustainable development across the Davao Region.”

The RDC-11 serves as the leading policy-making body at the regional level, tasked with coordinating and guiding all socio-economic development efforts. It comprises local government officials, regional heads of national government agencies, and private sector representatives, often nominated by non-government organizations and civil society groups.

As the new RDC-11 chair, Jubahib will lead the development and oversight of regional physical, development, and investment plans, review and approve policies, and monitor major regional activities. He will also represent the region in Cabinet meetings and other national-level activities, particularly in the Department of Economy, Planning, and Development (DEPDev) Board Regional Development Committee – Mindanao Area Committee.

Now in his third term as governor, Jubahib has built a reputation in transformative local governance, leading Davao del Norte to success. Under his leadership, Jubahib supported the investigation into corruption in government infrastructure projects, emphasizing that public funds must serve the Filipino people, not enrich corrupt officials. He formed a Special Inspection Team to review major infrastructure projects of the national government in the province.
