Bacolod: Pauline del Rosario is gearing up for another title challenge at the ICTSI Negros Occidental Golf Challenge, commencing on September 9. She recently clinched a narrow one-stroke victory over Korean golfer Seo Yun Kim at the Bacolod Golf and Country Club, marking one of the most notable comebacks in the history of the Ladies Philippine Golf Tour (LPGT).
According to Philippines News Agency, Del Rosario, a former LPGT Order of Merit champion, will be competing against a strong lineup of contenders. This includes Princess Superal, the inaugural Asia Pacific Cup champion, and Chanelle Avaricio, who emerged victorious in the Forest Hills leg last June. Superal recently won a playoff against Sarah Ababa at Caliraya Springs and had taken a break from the Bacolod leg for shoulder treatment. Meanwhile, Avaricio aims for another win on the Marapara course, having narrowly defeated Ababa earlier this year.
Seo Yun Kim is eager for redemption after her recent loss to Del Rosario, while Harmie Constantino will be defending her title. The tournament also features a star-studded roster including Daniella Uy, Chihiro Ikeda, Florence Bisera, Mafy Singson, Tiffany Lee, Lois Kaye Go, Martina Mi±oza, Pamela Mariano, Velinda Castil, Annika Cedo, and Kayla Nocum. The players will compete for a share of the PHP1 million prize in this sixth leg of the LPGT season.
