Manila: The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) has signed agreements with its key shelter agencies for the construction of 8,000 housing units under the Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino (4PH) program.
According to Philippines News Agency, the memorandum of agreement between the Home Development Mutual Fund, commonly known as Pag-IBIG Fund, and key shelter agencies such as the National Housing Authority (NHA) and the Social Housing Finance Corporation aims to expedite the nationwide rollout of the 4PH program. This initiative is a testament to the solidarity, unity, and strong collaboration between the DHSUD and the KSAs, which are considered crucial to the success of the 4PH Program, as stated by DHSUD Secretary Jose Rizalino Acuzar.
The housing projects include a medium-rise condominium with 372 units in Valenzuela City, facilitated by the NHA. Additionally, developments by the Social Housing Finance Corporation comprise 3,440 units in San Fernando, Pampanga; 1,200 units in Calinan District, Davao City; 2,135 units in Tondo, Manila; and 425 units in Sta. Mesa, Manila.
In alignment with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s directive to address the country's housing shortage, the DHSUD's key shelter agencies remain committed to their mission of providing decent and affordable housing for every Filipino family. The Pag-IBIG Fund, under the MOA, will finance the construction of these developments through its Direct Developmental Loan Program, marking a significant innovation in the housing sector. This approach aims to streamline the 4PH process, ultimately assisting more Filipino families in achieving their dream of homeownership.
