San pedro: A total of 427 members from two community associations in San Pedro, Laguna have finally secured ownership of the land they have occupied for decades under President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s Expanded Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program.
According to Philippines News Agency, Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling, together with Social Housing Finance Corporation (SHFC) President and CEO Federico Laxa, led the ceremonial awarding of Transfer Certificates of Title (TCTs) on Monday. The event benefited members of the Maralitang Nagkakaisa sa Tramo Buli Homeowners Association and the Cupang Tramo Neighborhood Homeowners Association in Barangay United Bayanihan.
The awarding was held as part of the 38th anniversary celebration of the Community Mortgage Program, themed 'Bahay, Buhay, Magandang Kinabukasan.' The two associations, with a combined 427 members, secured land acquisition loans from the SHFC in February 2004 through the Enhanced Community Mortgage Program (ECMP), a key modality under the Expanded 4PH.
"Dalawampu't dalawang taon na paghihintay, ngayon ay naipagkaloob na natin sa wakas ang kanilang mga titulo. Patunay ito na sa pamamagitan ng tuloy-tuloy na pagtutulungan ng pamahalaan at ng mga komunidad, maisusulong natin ang seguridad sa paninirahan ng mas marami pang pamilyang Pilipino," Aliling said during the ceremony, where 67 family-beneficiaries received their titles.
He also emphasized that DHSUD, through the SHFC, would continue strengthening the ECMP to help more organized communities secure land tenure and improve their living conditions. The DHSUD stated that under the Expanded 4PH, 47 ECMP projects have been approved nationwide, benefiting more than 8,100 families.
Aliling noted that the Expanded 4PH program aims not only to provide housing but also to give organized communities security of residence. "Sa Expanded 4PH, hindi lamang pabahay ang ating isinusulong kundi pati seguridad sa paninirahan alinsunod sa direktiba ni Pangulong BBM. Ang bawat titulong naipagkakaloob ay konkretong hakbang tungo sa pagkakaroon ng mas may dignidad na pamumuhay para sa ating mga kababayan," he said.
