Manila: The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) and the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) have strengthened their collaboration to intensify the campaign against real estate scams and protect property buyers from fraudulent schemes.

According to Philippines News Agency, Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling of DHSUD and NBI Director Melvin Matibag have mapped out enhanced law enforcement measures aimed at curbing illegal real estate activities that victimize unsuspecting buyers. Aliling emphasized the significance of the partnership with NBI in bolstering the protection of property buyers and intensifying the campaign against scammers.

The initiative aligns with the directive of Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to ensure the protection of Filipinos seeking safe, decent, and affordable housing. Aliling highlighted that the NBI's expertise in investigation and law enforcement will further strengthen DHSUD's efforts to address real estate malpractices.

Aliling also stressed the importance of stronger interagency coordination and a whole-of-government approach to effectively combat fraudulent activities in the housing sector. He stated the necessity of collaborative efforts to safeguard the rights of real property buyers, ensuring that the government remains proactive in curbing fraudulent activities and in advancing safe, secure, and legitimate housing for every Filipino.
