Manila: Motorists will soon be able to view and settle their traffic violations through the government's eGov PH super app, as the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) moves to integrate the no contact apprehension policy (NCAP) system. DICT Undersecretary David Almirol Jr. announced this during a press briefing in Malaca±ang following a meeting with the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA).
According to Philippines News Agency, Almirol stated, "Nagmeeting na po kami sa MMDA, so mare-receive mo na po yung mga penalties mo sa eGov app (We've already met with the MMDA, so you'll soon be able to receive your penalties through the eGov app)." He further explained, "Kapag natapos po 'yung integration, ang ganda po nito, makikita niyo 'yung mga violations niyo. At kahit nasa bahay kayo, puwede na isettle 'yung penalties (Once the integration is complete, it will be great - you'll be able to see your violations, and even settle the penalties from home)."
The NCAP allows the MMDA to record, review, and validate traffic violations through CCTV cameras. It is being implemented along Metro Manila's major thoroughfares like EDSA, Commonwealth Avenue, Quezon Avenue, Roxas Boulevard, and Taft Avenue. The integration is part of a broader effort by the DICT to bring more government services into a single digital platform.
Almirol mentioned that nearly 1,000 government systems have already been linked to the eGov PH app. These include services related to digital identification, tourism, travel, and benefits from agencies such as the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) and the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS). President Ferdinand Marcos R. Jr. has been pushing for streamlining public services through digital transformation.
