DICT Investigates Temporary Outage of Government Websites

Manila: The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) on Wednesday began its probe into the temporary outage of the websites of the Philippine Communications Office (PCO) and Official Gazette.

According to Philippines News Agency, the DICT stated that continuous monitoring of the websites indicated that both have already been fully restored and are available to the public. Users might experience slightly lower page loading times than usual as system optimization continues.

The DICT, through its National Computer Emergency Response Team (NCERT), is conducting a thorough investigation and preparing necessary audit logs. DICT-NCERT is actively collaborating with the PCO to verify whether the earlier downtime was the result of scheduled maintenance, configuration updates, intentional administrative actions, or other external causes.

At 3 p.m. on Tuesday, the DICT received a report that the Official Gazette and PCO websites were inaccessible. In response, technical teams were immediately deployed to restore the websites.
