Taguig city: An official of publicly listed digital entertainment provider DigiPlus Interactive Corp. on Friday disclosed the company's partnership with the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) for programs promoting responsible gaming, in line with the government's efforts to address gaming-related issues among Filipinos.

According to Philippines News Agency, during a briefing in Taguig City, Erick Su, head of ArenaPlus, DigiPlus' premium sports betting platform, said operators of gaming and gambling businesses have the responsibility to ensure that individuals using their services are responsible players, in accordance with PAGCOR policies.

Su stated that DigiPlus is taking a proactive approach by providing online tools for players to set their own limits and offering self-exclusion options. The company is also developing a program utilizing technological innovation to identify problem gamblers through their actions and behavior. Instead of relying on players to volunteer to set limits, DigiPlus plans to analyze players' actions to take a more proactive approach.

Furthermore, Su mentioned that DigiPlus is collaborating with PAGCOR and other stakeholders for the observance of Responsible Gambling Month in August. He emphasized the importance of educating players to be self-aware and understand the implications of gambling.

In addition, DigiPlus announced in a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange that its board of directors has appointed Ping Chen as the company's new president following the annual stockholders' meeting. Chen, who has held various positions in publicly listed technology and services conglomerates across Asia, succeeds Andy Tsui, who served as president and director over the past four years.
