Dimayuga and Tan Triumph in Subic Bay International Triathlon U15 Category

Albay: Subic Bay Freeport Zone: Diego Jose Dimayuga and Lauren Lee Tan emerged victorious in the Under-15 division of the Subic Bay International Triathlon (SuBIT) held at Subic Bay Freeport Zone in Zambales. Dimayuga clinched first place in the boys' super sprint race, completing the 375m swim, 10km bike, and 2.5km run in 35 minutes and 59 seconds, while Tan led the girls' division with a time of 38:25.

According to Philippines News Agency, Dimayuga's teammate Pio Mishael Gabriel secured second place in the boys' category, finishing in 36:31, followed by Cebuano Joseph Ian Caluste of Be Tritans with a time of 36:58. In the girls' division, Diego's younger sister, Naomi Rosalie, earned the silver medal with a time of 39:10, and Filipino-French competitor Alaina Bouffaut took the bronze, clocking in at 40:15.

Despite facing challenges, including a two-week illness prior to the event, Dimayuga expressed his excitement about the victory and his upcoming participation in the Asian Youth Championships in Xuzhou, China. He shared his determination to represent his country and team, Get Coach'd Academy, to the best of his ability.

In the standard men 16-19 years division, Qatar national team member Anes Khelili emerged victorious, completing the race in 1:06:36. He surpassed competitors Jarius Miguel Mejia of De La Salle Zobel Triathlon Team and Lorenzo Claur of Baguio Benguet Triathlon, who finished in 1:06:38 and 1:06:48, respectively.

The Subic Bay International Triathlon also featured notable performances in other categories. Naomi Felicity Aytin of BYBS/GAS Coaching won the women's division, and champions emerged in the super tri-kids category, spanning various age groups. The event, organized by Triathlon Philippines and supported by the Philippine Sports Commission and Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority, was a significant platform for athletes to showcase their skills and improve their rankings.
