Manila: Get Coach'd Academy bets Diego Jose Dimayuga and Alaina Bouffaut dominated in the National Age Group Triathlon Championships super sprint U15 (13-15 years old) at Subic Bay Freeport Zone here on Saturday.
According to Philippines News Agency, Dimayuga clocked 31 minutes and 46 seconds to beat teammate Pio Mishael Gabriel (33:31) in the boys' division of the 500m swim-10km bike-2.5km run race. Joseph Ian Caluste of Be Tritans (34:15) was third.
Teammates Bouffaut and Naomi Rozeboom also had a 1-2 finish in the girls' division of the event supported by the Philippine Sports Commission and Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority Tourism. Bouffaut submitted the best time of 37:39 followed by Rozeboom (37:51), while Lauren Lee Tan placed third (37:55), beating Dimayuga's sister, Naomi Rosalie (37:56).
Dimayuga and Bouffaut are scheduled to compete at the Asian Junior and U23 Championships in Hong Kong on May 12 to 15.
Meanwhile, Jewel Hunter Galang and Ylianna Devera won the super tri kids 6-under division (50m-1km-400m). "I'm happy to win. It's easy and fun," kindergarten student Devera, 5, said.
Marcus Jayden Balaquit of Wavemakers Swim Team and Danica Angodung (11-12 years; 440m-8km-2km); Eli Juan Dela Cruz of Team Megawide and Ami Takei of Team Honu (9-10 years; 200m-6km-1 km); and Ethan Gregorio of OJT and Francesca Bader Mendoza of Gas Coaching/Ace Seawolves (7-8 years; 100m-2km-800m) were the other winners in the event organized by Triathlon Philippines as part of its grassroots and talent identification program.
