Dizon Hopeful of Smooth Rehab Works in Other Parts of EDSA

Manila: Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Vince Dizon expressed hope that the rehabilitation of other portions of the Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (EDSA) would proceed smoothly. This came after the successful implementation of the initial phase of the EDSA rehabilitation project during the holiday season.

According to Philippines News Agency, in a social media post on Tuesday, the DPWH stated that Dizon inspected the newly constructed EDSA Busway lane from Roxas Boulevard in Pasay City to Orense in Makati City on Monday night, as part of the implementation of Phase 1 of the project. The section of the busway lane was immediately completed after President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s directive to ensure that EDSA is repaired as soon as possible, making motorists' travel safer.

The agency is also continuously coordinating with the Metro Manila Development Authority and the Department of Transportation for the repair of the remaining parts of EDSA. For this year, the works on the EDSA rehabilitation project will only be carried out daily from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. The works involve repairs and asphalt overlaying.
