Manila: Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Vince Dizon is prepared to collaborate with the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) regarding its investigation into alleged irregularities during the Philippines' hosting of the Southeast Asian Games in 2019. "We will cooperate because we have a clear conscience," Dizon stated during an inspection of the Phase 2 of the EDSA rehabilitation project.

According to Philippines News Agency, Dizon was the president and chief executive officer of the Bases Conversion and Development Authority at the time, which was responsible for overseeing the construction of sports facilities for the biennial event at New Clark City, Capas, Tarlac. He emphasized the quality of the facilities, noting that they were built to high standards and received praise from both local and international participants, including Singapore.

Dizon highlighted the continued use of these facilities by athletes, particularly those from the National Academy of Sports, marking a significant improvement in the country's sports infrastructure. He also pointed out that the allegations had been addressed previously, with the complaint being dismissed in 2021.

"As what the Ombudsman and the NBI have said, the case was dismissed in 2021. A complaint was filed against me and several other officials, but it was dismissed as early as December 2021," Dizon added. Despite the ongoing probe, he expressed confidence in the integrity of the facilities and reiterated his willingness to cooperate fully with the investigation.
