Pasay city: The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) has stepped up its employment and reintegration efforts for returning overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) through a nationwide job fair to be held during the Labor Day celebration on Friday.

According to Philippines News Agency, Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac stated that thousands of job opportunities across multiple sectors are available to displaced and repatriated OFWs seeking new employment. The job fair will feature around 3,451 job orders in fields such as healthcare, medical, engineering, technical trades, construction, and manufacturing.

Cacdac mentioned that 12 recruitment agencies, both land- and sea-based, including licensed manning agencies, will participate in the job fair. The event will also take place simultaneously in Iloilo, led by the DMW's National Reintegration Network (NRN).

Cacdac further highlighted that the job fairs are part of a broader reintegration strategy that connects returning OFWs to government employment channels. Approximately 300 OFWs have already been endorsed to various government agencies, including the Department of Labor and Employment, Department of Public Works and Highways, Department of Health, and Department of Education for potential placement under government service programs.

The DMW's 124th Philippine Labor Day Job Fair is scheduled to be held at the Robinsons Atrium in EDSA, Quezon City, starting at 9 a.m.
