DOH Opens Almost 200 Job Vacancies for Healthcare Workers in Ilocos

San Fernando: The Department of Health (DOH) in Ilocos Region has opened almost 200 vacant positions in hospitals across its area. The vacant positions are available at Mariano Marcos Memorial Hospital and Medical Center, Region 1 Medical Center, Ilocos Training and Regional Medical Center, and Conrado P. Estrella Regional Trauma and Medical Center, as well as in the DOH-Ilocos office.

According to Philippines News Agency, DOH-Ilocos Director Dr. Paula Paz Sydiongco stated that interested applicants who were unable to attend the job fair held in San Fernando, La Union, can apply online. Dr. Sydiongco emphasized their mission to not only promote health but also enhance the health of the Filipino workforce. She stated that this initiative aims to address workforce shortages, promote health careers, and aid in the development of the local workforce. Positions available include medical officer, health program researcher, administrative aide, administrative assistant, medical equipment technician, midwife, nurse, nursing attendant, occupational therapist, pharmacist, physical therapist, psychologist, social welfare assistant, and speech therapist, among others.

The job offering is part of a nationwide event aimed at recruiting more health workers for the DOH's 76 operating units, including the Central Office, Centers for Health Development, DOH hospitals, and Treatment and Rehabilitation Centers across the country.
