Manila: The Department of Justice (DOJ) has directed the filing of multiple charges against 22 individuals, including billionaire Charlie "Atong" Ang, concerning the "missing sabungeros" case. The charges involve 10 counts of kidnapping with homicide, filed in three separate courts: the Regional Trial Court (RTC) of Lipa City, RTC-Sta. Cruz, Laguna, and RTC-San Pablo, Laguna.

According to Philippines News Agency, DOJ spokesperson Polo Martinez announced that the resolution was released on Tuesday. However, the resolution will not be made available to the press immediately, as the respondents may submit motions for reconsideration. The DOJ's panel of prosecutors has found prima facie evidence to proceed with indicting the respondents on 10 counts of kidnapping with homicide.

The individuals facing these charges include Police Lieutenant Colonel Ryan Jay Orapa, Rogelio Borican Jr., Rodelo Anig-ig, Mark Carlo Zabala, Ronquillo Anding, and several police officers of varying ranks. Additionally, Emman Cayunda Falle, Julious Tagalog Gumulon, and Jezrel Lazarte Mahilum are among those indicted.

In addition to these charges, some of the respondents are also indicted for kidnapping with serious illegal detention. These individuals include Police Lieutenant Colonel Ryan Jay Orapa, Police Master Sergeant Michael Jaictin Claveria, Rodelo Anig-ig, and several others. The charges against them have been detailed, highlighting the involvement of both identified individuals and unnamed John Does.

For other respondents, the DOJ has dismissed the cases without prejudice, allowing for the possibility of refiling if new evidence emerges linking them to the unlawful detention acts.
