Manila: The Department of Justice (DOJ) announced that three of the five cases undergoing preliminary investigations related to alleged anomalies in flood control projects in Bulacan have been submitted for resolution. A panel of prosecutors will decide whether to proceed to court or pause the cases pending additional materials.

According to Philippines News Agency, the cases involve the firm SYMS Construction and Trading, which is accused of irregularities in the execution of the flood control projects. DOJ spokesperson Polo Martinez informed the media that, "Three out of five cases are now submitted for resolution. The remaining two are scheduled for another hearing on December 5, 2025, pending the further submission of counter-affidavits by the additional respondents."

Martinez further clarified, "The third setting was for the receipt of the counter-affidavits of those respondents who filed on November 24 motions for extension of time to file counter affidavits and/or supplemental counter affidavits."

The DOJ previously reported that the prosecution of these cases is progressing at a satisfactory pace, following Malaca±ang's directive to thoroughly investigate the matter.
