Bukidnon: The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) 10 (Northern Mindanao) facilitated the settlement of PHP1.9 million in back wages for workers in Bukidnon province on Tuesday. In a statement, DOLE-10 said the 30 workers and their employer settled the final pay disputes through DOLE's Single-Entry Approach (SEnA) Program.
According to Philippines News Agency, the workers directed their complaints to DOLE-Bukidnon, leading to a series of dialogues and negotiations before reaching a final settlement. The SEnA program serves as an impartial and accessible means of resolution, preventing labor disputes from escalating to legal arbitration.
A similar case was also resolved in Misamis Occidental, where an employee received PHP1.2 million in monetary claims. The settlement included separation pay, longevity pay, allowances, 13th month pay, and birthday gift benefits.
DOLE-Misamis Occidental Director Ebba Borbon Acosta emphasized that SEnA's mechanism ensures a balance between the welfare of workers and industries. 'Through conciliation-mediation, we ensure fair and timely resolutions that benefit all parties involved,' she said.
