DOLE Job Fairs Result in 3,572 On-the-Spot Hires Across the Nation

Manila: A total of 3,572 jobseekers were able to find employment after they were hired on the spot at job fairs nationwide from January to early April this year, a labor official said Monday.

According to Philippines News Agency, in a Bagong Pilipinas Ngayon briefing, Assistant Secretary Patrick Patriwirawan Jr. stated that these applicants were hired during 128 job fairs organized by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) since the start of 2025. Patriwirawan, who is also the officer-in-charge of DOLE's Bureau of Local Employment (BLE), mentioned, "From January to April, we have already conducted 128 job fair activities. We have reached 244,000 job vacancies, solicited from our partner employers which reached 2,253."

Patriwirawan further explained the government's efforts to connect citizens with employment opportunities and other government services. "And we will see that the participation of our countrymen in the job fair activities we are conducting, from the mandate, the directive of our President, we are ensuring that we can link our countrymen to various government services, including our other partner agencies, such as the DSWD (Department of Social Welfare and Development) and the DOH (Department of Health)," he added.

The labor official also highlighted sectors with significant job vacancies, noting that industries such as Information Technology and Business Process Management (IT-BPM), transport and logistics, hotel and restaurant, manufacturing, and wholesale and retail trade are experiencing high demand for workers.

Among the latest job fairs organized by the agency were held in Quezon City, Makati, Pasay, Las Pi±as, Manila, and Valenzuela in the National Capital Region between March 14 and 31.
