Cebu: The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) will profile workers displaced by Typhoon Tino (Kalmaegi) in Cebu. DOLE - Central Visayas Director Roy Buenafe stated that a rapid response team has been deployed to the province to assess the damage to businesses and identify affected workers.

According to Philippines News Agency, Buenafe mentioned that the DOLE Regional Office VII moved quickly to evaluate the impact on workers and pledged to provide necessary support. He emphasized the importance of focusing on the individuals who have lost their jobs and the families enduring hardship.

Initial reports from the Cebu Provincial Field Office indicate that Danao City, Compostela, and Liloan are the most severely impacted areas, with 300, 130, and 65 affected establishments, respectively. Buenafe assured that DOLE Central Visayas would continue to monitor the situation, work with local government units, and offer timely assistance to help rebuild lives in these communities.

Typhoon Tino has affected 635,565 families, equivalent to 2,258,782 individuals across 5,535 villages in eight regions nationwide, as reported by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council.
