Manila: Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon has directed the installation of wayfinders and larger signs for the free inter-terminal shuttle service at the three terminals of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA). Dizon's decision aims to improve passenger awareness of the free service and reduce reliance on taxi services.
According to Philippines News Agency, during an inspection at NAIA Terminal 3, Dizon emphasized that better signage would help passengers understand the availability of the shuttle service. He noted that many passengers are unaware of the shuttle, which leads them to choose taxi services instead.
During his visit, Dizon also took a ride on the airport shuttle and engaged with passengers to gather their feedback about the service. This move follows his recent order to crack down on taxi services operating at NAIA due to overcharging incidents that have gone viral on social media.
On June 25, authorities apprehended 11 taxi drivers at NAIA for illegally contracting passengers and violating franchise regulations. This action is part of ongoing efforts to address issues related to taxi services at the airport.
