DPWH Completes P96.5-M Flood Mitigation Structure in Alaminos City

Alaminos City: The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has successfully completed a PHP96.5 million flood mitigation structure in Alaminos City, Pangasinan, designed to shield communities from recurrent flooding.

According to Philippines News Agency, DPWH Ilocos Region information officer Esperanza Tinaza announced that the project, situated in Barangay San Jose, commenced on April 8, 2024, and concluded on February 1, 2025. "The completed flood mitigation structure will enhance the area's drainage capacity, minimize flood damage, and strengthen the community's resilience against extreme weather events," she stated. The community's closeness to bodies of water increases its susceptibility to flooding.

Tinaza emphasized that this project highlights the DPWH's dedication to safeguarding vulnerable communities and promoting sustainable development in Alaminos City. By reducing flood risks, the initiative aims to protect lives and properties, support economic stability, and improve residents' overall quality of life. With the improved infrastructure, the community can anticipate a safer, more resilient future.
