According to Philippines News Agency, Claudio Villareal, the chief of the DSWD-5 Disaster Response and Management Division, stated that the relief efforts include the distribution of non-food items as part of the agency's inter-field office augmentation strategy. Specifically, DSWD-5 is set to deliver 3,000 hygiene kits to the National Capital Region (NCR), targeting families in Para±aque. Additionally, 1,000 modular tents will be sent to the Central Luzon area, specifically San Simon, Pampanga, and 700 modular tents are designated for the Ilocos Region in Biday, La Union.

Villareal elaborated that the distribution is structured to assist a total of 3,000 families in the NCR with hygiene kits. The modular tents will provide temporary shelter for 1,000 families in Pampanga and 700 families in La Union, with each tent allocated to one family unit. He emphasized the challenges displaced families face during disasters, such as accessing basic necessities and securing temporary shelter.

He further explained that the augmentation of hygiene kits and modular tents aims to address these immediate needs and alleviate the burden on affected families. Other DSWD field offices are also contributing, with resources such as family food packs and additional non-food items to support ongoing relief efforts.

Villareal highlighted the coordinated approach, noting that DSWD-5's support is designed to complement the assistance from affected field offices, focusing on urgent needs and preventing duplication of aid. Future augmentation efforts will be based on the specific needs identified and the availability of resources.

The DSWD Bicol continues to partake in the agency's comprehensive disaster response initiatives, in alignment with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s directive and under the guidance of DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian, to enhance collaboration among field offices and expedite aid delivery to families in need.
