DSWD Satellite Office Opens in Northern Antique to Enhance Accessibility

San jose de buenavista: The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has inaugurated a new satellite office in the northern town of Antique, aiming to enhance the accessibility of its programs and services for local residents.

According to Philippines News Agency, the newly opened office began its operations on Monday and is designed to function as a one-stop shop for essential DSWD services. These services include the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program, the Sustainable Livelihood Program, and Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS), among others.

The satellite office will cater to residents from several towns in Antique, including Culasi, Pandan, Libertad, Sebaste, Tibiao, Caluya, Laua-an, Bugasong, and Valderrama. It will also serve the municipalities of Nabas and Buruanga in the neighboring province of Aklan.

Social Welfare and Development-Antique team leader Darlene Abagat highlighted the importance of the new office in an interview on Monday. She noted that indigent individuals from the northern part of the province previously had to invest significant time and money traveling to San Jose de Buenavista to request AICS or access the Sustainable Livelihood Program. With the establishment of the satellite office, these services are now more readily accessible to them.
