Manila: The Department of Social Welfare and Development's (DSWD) Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) is set to expand its "Trabaho sa Bagong Pilipinas para sa 4Ps" job caravan to additional provinces, including Pampanga, Bulacan, and Abra, over the coming months.
According to Philippines News Agency, 4Ps Social Marketing Division Chief Marie Grace Ponce announced the upcoming rollouts on Wednesday during an episode of the 4Ps Fastbreak online talk show, aired via the DSWD's Facebook page. The initiative aims to support households exiting the program due to natural attrition. Republic Act No. 11310, enacted in 2019, mandates that beneficiaries exit the program after seven years, with an estimated 2 million beneficiaries expected to transition out by 2026.
The Trabaho sa Bagong Pilipinas job fair is a collaborative effort organized by the DSWD and the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), along with other key agencies. It is designed to provide 4Ps beneficiaries with employment opportunities and pre-employment services. "It's a whole-of-government approach. All agencies of the government are collaborating to realize the Trabaho Para sa Bagong Pilipinas para sa 4Ps," said Ponce.
The DSWD anticipates that the initiative will enable more exiting 4Ps households to secure employment and achieve self-sufficiency. On January 31, the job caravan attracted nearly 12,000 participants at its launch event at the Rizal Memorial Stadium in Pasay City. Earlier this month, the caravan was successfully rolled out in Iloilo, Tagum, and Dumaguete, with approximately 3,000 participants attending each location.
