Manila: Speaker Faustino Dy III on Friday expressed confidence that the House of Representatives can pass more Legislative-Executive Development Advisory Council (LEDAC)-certified priority bills before the end of the year. Dy said majority of the remaining priority measures are already in the advanced stages of the legislative process.

According to Philippines News Agency, Dy highlighted that among the priority bills progressing in the House is the Cybersecurity Act, which is scheduled for second reading. In addition, eight other measures are awaiting action by the Committee on Appropriations or the Committee on Ways and Means. Dy appealed to the Senate to assist in enacting these bills before the year's end.

In a video statement, Dy emphasized the House's commitment to prioritize measures that directly benefit ordinary Filipinos. He noted the importance of coordination with the Executive branch, particularly the Presidential Legislative Liaison Office, as prompt feedback from government agencies and the early submission of executive versions of proposed measures help expedite the legislative process.

Dy reiterated the objective of passing measures that have genuine benefits and can be felt by every Filipino, emphasizing the role of collaboration between different branches of the government to achieve this goal.
