Manila: Economic managers of the Marcos administration will discuss the government's plan to sustain economic growth amid external headwinds at the annual economic forum of the Economic Journalists Association of the Philippines (EJAP) on Aug. 11 at the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Assembly Hall.
According to Philippines News Agency, Department of Economy, Planning, and Development (DEPDev) Secretary Arsenio Balisacan, Department of Finance (DOF) Secretary Ralph Recto, Department of Budget and Management Secretary Amenah Pangandaman, Special Assistant to the President for Investment and Economic Affairs Frederick Go, and BSP Governor Eli Remolona Jr. will speak at the EJAP economic forum with the theme "Midterm Momentum: Balancing Stability and Ambition".
Balisacan will discuss the current economic status of the Philippines and the road ahead in the remaining three years of the administration as the country inches closer to becoming an upper-middle income country.
Recto will expound on how the government plans to fund its budget to accelerate socioeconomic development.
Pangandaman is expected to delve into the inner workings of the upcoming 2026 National Expenditure Program.
Go will shed light on the overarching marching orders of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. in boosting the country's investment and ramping up economic activities.
Remolona, meanwhile, is expected to lay down the BSP's direction on the country's interest rates amid continued slowdown of inflation.
The annual forum is expected to be attended by over 100 journalists, private sector representatives, and government officials.
