Ejercito to help push for Antique development

Senatorial candidate Joseph Victor “JV” Ejercito on Tuesday vowed to strengthen the implementation of Universal Health Care (UHC) Law to benefit all Antiqueños.

In his campaign visit to Antique on Tuesday, Ejercito said he would be working with Lone District Representative Loren Legarda, who is also seeking a Senate comeback, to push for the development of the province.

Ejercito, in a media interview held at the Esprutingkle Hotel in San Jose de Buenavista, said he has good chemistry with Legarda since he worked as her vice-chairperson in the Senate’s finance committee in 2015.

He added that the UHC Law is his “landmark legislation” which is now being carried out.

The UHC aimed for zero balance billing for patients, particularly the indigents, whose families no longer have to worry about hospital bills because of their membership with the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PHIC).

Ejercito said that he wanted to return to the Senate to oversee the full implementation of the law, of which he is the principal author.

The UHC Law was passed in 2019 and was implemented in 2020.

Ejercito added that he was glad that he got the support of Legarda and Antique reelectionist Governor Rhodora Cadiao.
