Manila: Eleven micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) from Pangasinan are participating in the International Food Expo (IFEX) Philippines 2026, taking place from May 21 to 23 at the World Trade Center Metro Manila in Pasay City.

According to Philippines News Agency, the Pangasinan-based MSMEs include Hou Yang Food Corp., known for its bangus (milkfish) and chicken karaage products; Rotico Food Products Romana Peanut Brittle; and Mama Cili Enterprises, which specializes in bottled processed bangus. Other participants are Dimalupig and Gabrielle Food Products Trading, offering sugarcane vinegar; Eldica Seafood Processing, with processed bangus; and Bernal Bagoong, featuring bagoong (fish paste) products.

Further, the expo includes Abundance Agri-Tourism and Training Center Inc., showcasing organic agriculture products like tea and herbs; Anjo Farms Inc., also providing processed bangus; Bantog Samahang Nayon Multipurpose Cooperative, with dairy products; Nutridense Manufacturing Corp., offering ready-to-eat food, complimentary and fortified foods; and Subhanallah TJ's Food House, presenting its processed bangus.

Department of Trade and Industry Ilocos Region (DTI-1) assistant regional director Natalia Dalaten stated in an interview that this marks the fourth year the MSMEs have joined the IFEX, enhancing their confidence in presenting products to the international market. "This provides them market exposure, business matching opportunities for possible international markets, and market promotion for international buyers," she explained.

Dalaten highlighted that one of the MSMEs had successfully exported products directly to the Middle East, while others have gained from indirect exports. She emphasized that the MSMEs have been well-prepared for international markets with DTI's assistance, ensuring they have the necessary licensing, permits, and quality assurances for their products.

Since joining IFEX, the Pangasinan provincial government has pledged ongoing support for MSMEs. "We are grateful to Governor Ramon Guico III for the support to the MSMEs and for initiating this," Dalaten added.
