Manila: Executive Secretary Ralph Recto reminded newly appointed officials in the Executive department that President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. expects urgency, integrity, and accountability, stressing that delays and mediocrity have no place in government service.
According to Philippines News Agency, Recto delivered the message during the oath-taking ceremony of around 40 newly appointed officials held at the Premier Guest House in the Malaca±ang Complex last Friday. This reminder was shared by the Office of the Executive Secretary in a social media post on Tuesday.
In his remarks, Recto emphasized that the President demands high standards of public service from his officials. He stated, "[The President] expects nothing less than excellence from each of you.... For his vision is clear: no more excuses, no more delays, no more mediocrity," highlighting the administration's commitment to efficient governance.
The event saw the participation of key figures such as Transportation Secretary Giovanni Lopez, Philippine Coast Guard Commandant Adm. Ronnie Gil Gavan, and Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) President and CEO Joshua Bingcang, underscoring the importance of collaboration among various sectors in achieving the President's vision.
