Fair Weather Predicted Across the Philippines Amid Dissipating Low Pressure Area

Manila: Fair weather will prevail across the country, the weather bureau said Wednesday. "Expect warm and humid weather, especially during noon and afternoon. Isolated rain showers and localized thunderstorms are also possible," Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) weather specialist Chenel Dominguez said. According to Philippines News Agency, temperatures could peak at 39 °C in Tuguegarao and 35 °C in Metro Manila. Dominguez said the heat index, or the temperature felt by the human body when relative humidity combines with actual air temperature, could peak at 45 °C in ISU Echague, Isabela; TAU Camiling, Tarlac; and Butuan City, Agusan del Norte. The heat index in parts of Metro Manila could reach 40 °C to 42 °C. Meanwhile, the low pressure area (LPA) inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), formerly known as Tropical Depression Caloy, is not expected to redevelop into a tropical cyclone. Dominguez said the LPA is also unlikely to affect the count ry's weather condition. The LPA is forecast to dissipate during the weekend, Dominguez said.
