Manila: The recent meeting between First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos and actress Kris Aquino suggests that they have a 'good' relationship, Malaca±ang said Tuesday. This came after Aquino and her children, Josh and Bimby, visited the First Lady ahead of her birthday on August 21.

According to Philippines News Agency, Palace Press Officer Claire Castro noted in a press briefing, "Nakita naman natin kung ano 'yung pahiwatig ng pagbisita ni Ms. Kris Aquino at ng kanyang mga anak. Nagpapahiwatig ito na maganda ang kanilang relasyon (We saw what the visit of Ms. Kris Aquino and her children suggests. It indicates that they have a good relationship)."

On Sunday, Araneta-Marcos shared a photo of her with Aquino and her sons and expressed gratitude over their 'thoughtful surprise.' The First Lady said the Aquinos' gesture 'truly warmed [my] heart' and made her feel 'very blessed.'

Castro mentioned that the First Lady appeared to have enjoyed her recent meeting with Aquino. "Kung ano 'yung kanilang pag-usapan, wala pong naibibigay sa akin at kung mayroon man ay baka hindi pa ako allowed sabihin ito. But definitely masaya naman sila (I have not been given any information about what they discussed, and if there was any, perhaps I am not yet allowed to disclose it. But definitely, they were happy)," she said.

Araneta-Marcos is an aunt by marriage to Kris Aquino's sons. Her maternal aunt, Rosario Cacho, was married to Pedro Cojuangco, the eldest brother of Aquino's mother, the late former president Corazon Aquino. The familial link has helped maintain cordial relations between the two families despite their political differences.
