Bulacan: Police authorities arrested the "top 1 most wanted person" in Angat, Bulacan during a joint law enforcement operation conducted in San Jose del Monte Sunday night. The suspect, identified as Bernando Carvajal III, 39, was apprehended by combined elements of the San Jose del Monte City Police Station and the Angat Municipal Police Station. His arrest was made by virtue of an arrest warrant for parricide, issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 104 in Malolos City, with no bail recommended.
According to Philippines News Agency, recovered from the suspect were a .45-caliber Colt pistol, four magazines, 25 rounds of live ammunition, and three sachets of suspected shabu weighing approximately 10 grams. Also seized from him were a cellular phone, wallet with IDs, and a Mitsubishi Adventure vehicle. Initial investigation also showed that he was a suspect in a shooting incident on April 20, 2024, in Barangay Marungko, Angat, which resulted in the death of Army Maj. Dennis Moreno.
The suspect is now under police custody and faces multiple charges related to illegal possession of firearms, ammunition, and dangerous drugs, in addition to the parricide case pending before the court.
