Galanza, Minowa Power Cool Smashers to Victory over Foxies

Manila: Creamline outlasted Farm Fresh, 25-18, 24-26, 25-22, 23-25, 15-4, in the PVL Invitational at the Araneta Coliseum on Thursday. Jema Galanza delivered 26 points on 22 attacks, two blocks, and two aces as the Cool Smashers notched their third straight win, moving closer to a finals berth.

According to Philippines News Agency, Galanza emphasized the team's reliance on a well-established system. "It's the system. We have nowhere else to turn but to the system itself. Everyone knows each other, and since everyone wants to win, we fought hard in that last set," said the former Adamson standout, who also had 11 excellent digs and 18 receptions. Galanza has been one of Creamline's biggest weapons in the tournament, scoring 17 points against Nxled and 12 points against Ho Chi Minh City club of Vietnam.

Jaja Minowa contributed significantly with 17 points on 14 attacks and three blocks. Meanwhile, Alyssa Valdez and Diana Mae Carlos each scored 12 points during the two-hour and 13-minute encounter. On the opposing side, Frances Molina scored 27 points for Farm Fresh, which took its second loss in three outings. Trisha Tubu and Royse Tubino added 19 points apiece.

Creamline dominated the attacking department, 77-67, while Farm Fresh had more blocks, 11-9, with Tubu and Marivic Meneses combining for seven. Friday's matches are set to feature PLDT against Farm Fresh at 1:30 p.m., Nxled against Ho Chi Minh at 4 p.m., and Creamline against EST Cola at 6:30 p.m.
