Warsaw: Gilas Pilipinas Women saved their best for last as they wrapped up their 2026 FIBA 3x3 World Cup with a historic 17-13 victory over world No. 11 Italy in Warsaw, Poland on Wednesday. Camille Clarin led the nationals with eight points and three rebounds to guide the Philippines in its first-ever win on the FIBA 3x3 World Cup stage.
According to Philippines News Agency, national team veteran Afril Bernardino added four points and six boards while Mikka Cacho and Kacey Dela Rosa chipped in three and two points, respectively, as the Filipinas handed Italy its fourth straight loss in the group stage. The Gilas Women, however, blew an early 6-1 lead against China in their first game of the day. China showed composure en route to a 20-12 win over the Philippines to advance to the knockout stages.
The Filipinas finished the group stage with a 1-3 record to finish fourth in Pool C of the tournament. Only the top two teams of each pool automatically qualify for the knockouts, while the third-placed squads get another shot via play-in.
