The gold futures contract on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives closed higher in line with COMEX gold prices. At the close, spot month July 2024 contract rose to US$2,372.40 per troy ounce from US$2,371.00 per troy ounce on Thursday. Contracts for August 2024, September 2024, October 2024, December 2024 and February 2025 also increased to US$2,385.80 per troy ounce from US$2,384.40 per troy ounce yesterday. Volume rose to 29 lots from 11 lots yesterday, while open interest improved to 53 contracts from 35 contracts previously. The price of physical gold stood at US$2,364.20 per troy ounce, according to the London Bullion Market Association's afternoon fix on July 25. Source: BERNAMA News Agency
