KUALA LUMPUR, The gold futures contract on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives closed mostly higher, despite the weaker performance of COMEX gold futures. At the close, spot month August 2024 was unchanged at US$2,474.50 per troy ounce. Meanwhile, September 2024, October 2024, November 2024, December 2024, and February 2025 rose to US$2,478.20 per troy ounce from US$2,474.50 per troy ounce at Friday's close. Volume decreased to 22 lots from 69 lots last week, while open interest fell to nine contracts against 77 contracts previously. The price of physical gold stood at US$2,469.85 per troy ounce, according to the London Bullion Market Association's afternoon fix on Aug 2. Source: BERNAMA News Agency
