Guimaras: The government's condonation program has relieved 1,762 agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) in Guimaras from a debt of PHP87.51 million. The debt cancellation is part of an initiative to support agrarian reform efforts in the region.

According to Philippines News Agency, a significant ceremony is scheduled for January 11, 2026, where 1,803 Certificates of Condonation with Release of Mortgage (COCROMs) will be distributed to the ARBs. Alongside this, 1,050 electronic titles will be handed over under the Support to Parcelization of Lands for Individual Titles Project. The condoned debt covers an area of 2,161.92 hectares, providing substantial relief to the beneficiaries.

Guimaras Agrarian Reform Program Officer Lourdes Novilla explained in an interview that a ceremonial distribution of certificates of land ownership award (CLOAs), electronic titles, and COCROMs took place earlier this week as a preparatory event for the upcoming major distribution. "Upon the directive of Secretary Conrado Estrella III, we have to do the ceremonial distribution to show our agrarian reform beneficiaries that we are serious in delivering our 2025 targets," Novilla stated.

Novilla further mentioned that the commitment for 2025 includes delivering 1,050 electronic titles, covering 1,310 hectares, to 680 agrarian reform beneficiaries. During a recent ceremonial event at the provincial office on December 22, ten titles covering about 20 hectares and three certificates of condonation amounting to PHP149,223.65 were released.

The ceremony, attended by DAR Assistant Secretary Quintin Magsico Jr., emphasized the government's commitment to agrarian reform. Novilla highlighted that the distribution of individual titles, as opposed to CLOAs, is now underway to ensure beneficiaries enjoy ownership of their land.
