Manila: The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) announced its new partnership with payment solutions provider Dragonpay to expand digital payment channels for its members and pensioners.
According to Philippines News Agency, GSIS President and General Manager Wick Veloso and Dragonpay founder and chief executive officer Robertson Chiang formalized the partnership through a memorandum of agreement (MOA) signed on Tuesday. "What we have just signed is proof of GSIS's commitment to provide ease of doing business for our members and pensioners. Ito ang totoong pangarap na kailangan nating maipadama sa kanila, bahagi ng ginhawa na ipinangako natin (This is the true aspiration we must deliver to them - part of the comfort we promised)," Veloso emphasized in a news release.
The agreement enables GSIS members and pensioners to settle loan payments through Dragonpay's electronic payment channels. These options can be accessed via the GSIS Touch mobile app and GSIS information booths, offering both online and on-site payment conveniences. Dragonpay now joins a roster of GSIS payment partners that includes Bayad Center, M Lhuillier, Maya, UnionBank of the Philippines, and the Land Bank of the Philippines.
"This marks a shared commitment between GSIS and Dragonpay to make government transactions more accessible, more convenient, and more responsive to the evolving needs of every Filipino," Chiang stated. Under the MOA, GSIS and Dragonpay will integrate systems, establish reporting protocols, and conduct regular testing to ensure the security and accuracy of transactions. Dragonpay will submit daily transaction reports, which GSIS will validate against its settlement records.
Both parties have also committed to comply with the Data Privacy Act of 2012 and adhere to the guidelines of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas and the Commission on Audit. Payors will bear all applicable convenience fees, which will be disclosed at the point of transaction.
