Antique: Projects and assistance worth PHP161 million were extended to Antique on Monday during the 'Handog ng Pangulo 2026: Serbisyong Sapat Para sa Lahat' as part of the 69th birthday celebration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. Twenty-one national agencies and the provincial government provided aid and services to over 2,000 beneficiaries at Binirayan Gymnasium.
According to Philippines News Agency, Acting Environment and Natural Resources Secretary Juan Miguel Cuna, who led the distribution, stated that President Marcos is bringing the convergence of government services to the province, demonstrating unity and resilience despite numerous catastrophes. These included the oil crisis, drought, and other natural disasters. The President aims to make government assistance and services, such as health, employment, and livelihood, accessible to the people.
The Belison Multi-Purpose Cooperative received the largest portion of assistance with over PHP5 million for its solar project. It also obtained one of two coconut seedlings packages from the Philippine Coconut Authority and one of three Shared Service Facilities from the Department of Trade and Industry.
The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration disbursed PHP1 million to two overseas Filipino workers associations in Pandan and Patnongon for their livelihood capital. The Department of Social Welfare and Development conducted a payout for the PHP1.5 million Unified Package for Livelihood, Industry, Food, and Transport beneficiaries for August. Additionally, the Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation released PHP1.2 million for crop and livestock indemnity.
The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority provided PHP1 million for toolkits and scholarships. Meanwhile, the Department of Labor and Employment released PHP495,972 as a stipend under the Special Program for the Employment of Students. The Department of Agriculture handed over inputs for rice for the dry season and hybrid yellow corn seeds.
Other agencies, including the National Bureau of Investigation and the Philippine National Police, offered services such as clearance issuance. The Department of Environment and Natural Resources distributed land titles to 50 beneficiaries. The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation highlighted its Yaman ng Kalusugan primary healthcare program and the Guaranteed and Accessible Medications for Outpatient Treatment. The Department of Health and the Integrated Provincial Health Office also provided medical services.
The Antique Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office released aid to individuals in crisis situations. The Provincial Housing and Resettlement Office handed over 80 tents to local government units. The Department of Justice and the Integrated Bar of the Philippines offered legal services, while the University of Antique promoted their courses and bamboo products.
