Hermosa SCTEX Interchange to Link Central Luzon Economic Zones

Hermosa: A new Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX) interchange is set to connect Hermosa, Bataan, to the logistics and manufacturing corridor of Central Luzon, significantly boosting long-term development and connectivity in the region. The interchange is part of the SCTEX Expansion and Enhancement Plan, aligning with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s 'Build, Better, More' infrastructure initiative.

According to Philippines News Agency, this project is a collaboration between the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA), the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) Corp., and the local government of Hermosa. The BCDA emphasized that the interchange will establish a vital connection between Bataan's economic zones and other growth corridors in Central Luzon, including the Clark Freeport Zone, New Clark City, and the Subic Bay Freeport Zone.

The interchange will further improve access to the BCDA-administered Bataan Technology Park in Morong, which is earmarked to become the new headquarters for the Philippine Marine Corps. BCDA President and CEO Joshua Bingcang remarked that the project will 'unlock a new gateway to economic opportunities for Central Luzon.'

Bingcang also highlighted that the interchange will provide essential support to the region's expanding logistics and manufacturing sectors, creating more employment opportunities. Additionally, the project aims to bolster the government's efforts to enhance connectivity along the Luzon Economic Corridor, thereby positioning the region as a strategic hub for manufacturing and electronics.
