HOME MINISTRY TO ALLOCATE RM20 MLN IN GPPK GRANTS TO RESIDENTS’ ASSOCIATIONS

The Home Ministry, through the Registrar of Societies (RoS) has allocated RM20 million for the Pertubuhan Prihatin Komuniti (GPPK) grant which residents' associations can apply for starting tomorrow.

Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said the grant application can be made through the eROSES system where eligible residents' associations will receive an allocation of up to RM10,000.

“The objective of GPPK is to enhance community safety and the involvement of organisations in local community safety affairs.

“The allocation of RM20 million can benefit up to 2,000 residents' associations, each of which is eligible to receive up to RM10,000," he said at a press conference after attending the KDN Madani Programme with the Home Minister here today.

Also present were Deputy Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain and Kedah Police Chief Datuk Fisol Salleh.

Meanwhile, Saifuddin said that many citizenship applications were received by the KDN, and he was aiming for 10,000 applications to be resolved this year.

“From that target, a total of 8,288 applications have been completed and today we handed over birth certificates and MyKads to 15 recipients,” he said.
