Manila: Honda Philippines, Inc. (HPI) anticipates its motorcycle sales in the country will exceed the 1-million mark in the fiscal year from April 2025 to March 2026, as stated by Jomel Jerezo, the company's vice president for sales and marketing, during a press engagement at the Honda Marine BF350 launch.
According to Philippines News Agency, Jerezo reported that HPI is on course to conclude the current fiscal year with sales of 940,000 units. "We are going to close in March 2025 our fiscal year. Then our target is to reach 940,000, and we are on track. Thankfully we are on track so far in February," Jerezo stated. He noted that nearly all of their motorcycle production in the country was sold locally, with only about 40 units exported to New Zealand.
In the same media interaction, HPI president Sayaka Arai expressed optimism about achieving the 1 million sales target for the next fiscal year, which would potentially boost the brand's market share from the current 55 percent to 60 percent. "For the motorcycle, we have more potential. Of course, in the Philippines, the population is increasing and getting younger. So that's why the motorcycle's potential is growing up," Arai explained. HPI aims to maintain its status as the leading motorcycle brand in the Philippines.
Since the Japanese brand began its motorcycle production in May 1973, HPI has manufactured 8 million motorcycle units as of April 2024. The Honda BF350 represents the flagship outboard engine in Honda's marine lineup and is noted for being its most advanced outboard motor.
