House Nearly Fully Prepared for President Marcos Jr.’s Fourth SONA

Quezon city: The House of Representatives announced on Monday that it is '90 to 95 percent ready' to host President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s fourth State of the Nation Address (SONA) at the Batasang Pambansa complex.

According to Philippines News Agency, House spokesperson and lawyer Princess Abante shared the update following a final interagency coordination meeting. Abante stated, "From the discussions I heard earlier, siguro mga nasa 90 to 95 percent na tayo (we are about 90-95 percent) ready, leaving room for some adjustments."

Abante mentioned that the House is in the final phase of preparations for the SONA. All involved agencies are closely monitoring weather conditions and fine-tuning contingency plans. Despite recent intermittent rains, no disruptions have been reported. She emphasized, "Sa ngayon, tuluy-tuloy pa rin 'yung preparations natin. Hindi naman siya naaantala."

In case of severe weather, contingency plans are in place, though there have been no discussions about postponing the event scheduled for July 28. Security preparations are finalized, similar to last year with minor adjustments.

Abante assured that there are no specific security threats being monitored currently, but law enforcement agencies remain vigilant. She also mentioned that while exact guest numbers are unavailable, attendance is expected to match last year's record turnout of over 1,500 confirmed attendees.

Finally, Abante invited the public to tune in to the President's fourth SONA, expressing anticipation for the President's report and future plans for the country.
