Manila: Newly appointed Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling has issued a circular calling for the expeditious handling and disposition of homebuyers' complaints against developers. 'Homebuyers and other real estate clients encountering problems deserve better from DHSUD,' Aliling said in a news release on Friday. 'We must exhaust all possible means within our authority to address these concerns fairly, transparently, expeditiously, and, as much as possible, without added stress and cost to homebuyers.'
According to Philippines News Agency, the Department Circular on 'Providing for the Expeditious Handling and Disposition of Buyers' Complaints against Developers of Subdivision and Condominium Projects' directed the regional offices to submit a bi-weekly complaints status report to the Central Office. Aliling, who took his oath as the new housing czar on Thursday, said the DHSUD would develop a mechanism that would bring homebuyers' complaints to the Office of the Secretary.
'Isama na rin po natin dito yung mga problema ng mga homeowners' association - aaralin natin paano makatulong ang DHSUD sa inyong mga problema para hindi na po kayo umabot sa demandahan (Let us include here the homeowners' association's problems - we'll study how the DHSUD could help address your problems so you need not reach the court),' he said. Aliling encouraged those who have concerns or complaints to forward them to email address [email protected] or to Facebook page @DHSUDgovph.
