‘Huaning’ Set to Exit PAR as Easterlies Bring Rains Across Philippines

Manila: Tropical Depression Huaning is anticipated to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) by Tuesday morning, as it slightly picks up speed heading north towards Ryukyu Island, the weather bureau has announced. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported in its 4 a.m. bulletin that the cyclone was situated 650 km east-northeast of Itbayat, Batanes. It is currently maintaining maximum sustained winds of 55 kph near the center, with gusts reaching up to 70 kph. No tropical cyclone wind signal has been raised, and Huaning is not expected to impact the sea conditions along the country's coastal areas. Furthermore, PAGASA noted that the cyclone is unlikely to have any direct effects on the country.

Scattered rains and thunderstorms are forecasted for the Visayas, Bicol Region, Mimaropa, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, Caraga, Davao Region, and Quezon. These areas may encounter moderate to heavy rains, potentially leading to flash floods or landslides.
