Manila: The provincial government of Ilocos Norte has set November 28, 2025, as a Provincial Day of Prayer dedicated to healing and unity, amidst the ongoing challenges the nation faces, including natural disasters, corruption, and political division. The announcement was made as part of an initiative to foster community solidarity and spiritual reflection during trying times.

According to Philippines News Agency, Ilocos Norte Governor Cecilia Araneta Marcos issued an open letter on Tuesday, inviting the public to take part in the province-wide prayer event, scheduled for 5 a.m. on Friday. In her message, Governor Marcos called upon all churches, ministries, families, and individual believers across the province to unite in prayer.

Governor Marcos emphasized the importance of expressing gratitude for the province's recent avoidance of widespread devastation from cyclones, particularly Super Typhoon Uwan, known internationally as Fung-wong. She highlighted the significance of seeking continued protection amid climate changes and mentioned prophecies predicting more severe weather events.

Additionally, Governor Marcos addressed the issue of corruption, urging prayers for national leaders to prioritize the interests of the people and serve with integrity. She expressed hope that the day of prayer would inspire a renewed commitment to service among the nation's leaders.
