Ilocos norte: More than a thousand overseas and local jobs for skilled and unskilled workers will be available during a job fair at Robinsons Place Ilocos on Saturday. Organized by the Ilocos Norte provincial government through the Provincial Public Employment Service Office (PESO), the activity aims to provide expanded opportunities for Ilocanos seeking employment.
According to Philippines News Agency, Anne Marie Lizette Bitancor-Atuan, PESO-Ilocos Norte provincial manager, said Thursday they are coordinating closely with employers to ensure job seekers have direct access to a wide range of vacancies. "Interested applicants may just prepare their updated resume for possible hiring on Saturday," Atuan said.
As of Thursday, PESO reported that 41 employers from the private and government sectors, including overseas recruitment agencies, have confirmed their participation in the whole-day event. Various national government agencies will also set up a one-stop shop to provide essential services to the participants.
Participating agencies include the National Bureau of Investigation, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, PhilHealth, Social Security System, Pag-IBIG, Philippine Statistics Authority, and the Department of Social Welfare and Development. The event is a pre-Labor Day activity designed to sustain the province's high employment rate while supporting career shifters and returning workers.
Provincial officials noted that the fair serves as a celebration of opportunities and hope for every Ilocano job seeker.
