Ilocos norte: The provincial government of Ilocos Norte has distributed PHP9.2 million in cash assistance to village workers in Batac City and tricycle drivers and operators in Bacarra and Vintar. Governor Cecilia Araneta-Marcos spearheaded the distribution, which benefited 1,531 barangay workers at the Imelda Cultural Center, each receiving PHP4,000. The governor acknowledged a delay in the distribution, explaining that the aid is typically disbursed in December but was postponed due to processing requirements.

According to Philippines News Agency, the timing of the aid release is crucial, as the ongoing Middle East conflict has led to significant fuel price hikes. In response, 1,238 tricycle drivers and operators in Bacarra and Vintar were given PHP2,500 each as a fuel subsidy. Edmar Salvador, president of the Tricycle Operators and Drivers Association of Ilocos Norte, expressed gratitude for the provincial government's support, stating, "This is a good initiative from the provincial government. We are grateful for the help, as we are really hard up to meet our daily needs because of the rising cost of fuel."

In addition to fuel subsidies, Ilocos Norte's provincial and local government units are providing agricultural inputs to farmers and fisherfolk through the "Agri Ka Dito" program. Participants can request fuel aid, seeds, fertilizers, livestock, and machinery. The Sustainable Development Center has earmarked PHP6 million for fuel subsidies alone in 2025, funded by the provincial government's tobacco excise tax share.
