Indian Nationals Granted Visa-Free Entry to Philippines Starting June 8

Manila: Indian tourists will soon be able to enter the Philippines without a visa for a non-extendible and non-convertible period of 14 days starting June 8. This initiative is part of efforts to boost tourist arrivals in the country.

According to Philippines News Agency, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) announced that Indian tourists must present several documents to gain entry. These include a passport valid for at least six months beyond the intended stay, confirmed hotel accommodation or booking, proof of financial capacity, and a return or onward ticket to their next destination.

Indian nationals who possess valid and current American, Japanese, Australian, Canadian, Schengen, Singapore, or United Kingdom (AJACSSUK) visas or residence permits can enjoy a visa-free stay of up to 30 days for tourism purposes. This updated visa-free privilege is available at any Philippine port of entry but cannot be converted to a visa-based stay or other admission status categories.

To qualify for visa-free entry, Indian nationals must have a clean record with the Bureau of Immigration. Those transiting through the Philippines or entering for long-term visits and non-tourism activities are not eligible for this scheme and must apply for an appropriate Philippine visa at their local Philippine Embassy or Consulate.

Furthermore, Indian nationals eligible for e-Visas can apply via the official Philippine e-Visa website, evisa.gov.ph. These e-Visas are also non-extendable and non-convertible to other visa-based stay or admission status categories.
